What is a patio sunroom, anyway?
A patio sunroom, as the name suggests, is a space that features oversized windows that provide an abundance of light and stunning views of the outdoors. The windows can be fixed, or they can open and be covered with screens, allowing for natural airflow. Patio sunrooms are converted spaces that started out as traditional enclosed or unenclosed patios, and are turned into enclosed spaces that feature walls of windows.
If your patio is enclosed, a West Hempstead, NY all season sunroom designer will install windows and screens, will change out the existing doors, and will add any other feature you’d like. If it is an open patio, a ceiling and walls will be installed, as well as windows, screens, doors, and other structural elements.
If your Nassau County house has a patio that’s rarely used, rather than letting it sit as wasted space, having a West Hempstead, NY all season sunroom designer convert it into a patio sunroom would be well worth your while. Even if your existing patio is used regularly, transforming it into a sunroom would still be beneficial. Why? Here’s a look at some of the benefits that you’ll be able to take advantage of when you add a patio sunroom to your Nassau County home.
With so many benefits, it’s easy to see why converting a patio into a patio sunroom is a worthwhile investment. West Hempstead first appeared on maps as the name of a Long Island Railroad station in 1893. There are 3 railroad stations within its borders: West Hempstead, Hempstead Gardens, and Lakeview. The line continues to Valley Stream where it joins the Babylon Branch. Halls Pond Park, the main park within West Hempstead, was dedicated by Nassau County in 1961. The smaller Echo Park contains a public indoor pool. Its name is derived from the community’s first four little league teams: Eagles, Cardinal, Hawks, and Orioles. In 1956, the West Hempstead Public Library was founded and chartered by the State in 1967. Its present 28,000 square-foot facility was completed in 2007.
In 2001, residents of West Hempstead held a nonbinding referendum on renaming the community. The vote followed a two-year effort by the West Hempstead Civic Association and the West Hempstead Chamber of Commerce to give the community a unique name, distancing itself from the neighboring and urbanized Hempstead. By a 94-vote margin, West Hempstead retained its name over the proposed Mayfair Gardens.
West Hempstead is easily accessed from the Southern State Parkway at Exit 17N.Learn more about West Hempstead.
